The fire started around 4:30 a.m. It destroyed the home and a shed in the backyard.

Fire officials say the flames were so strong, firefighters couldn't go inside the burning building. They found the victims inside after the fire was extinguished.

The fire also heavily damaged a neighboring home that was under renovation.

Fire officials say because the home collapsed in the blaze, investigators may not be able to determine how the fire started.

"We're not going to be able to determine that based on the remains of the structure. The destruction was so thorough, it's going to be impossible for us based on that to make a determination," New Castle Police Sgt. David Viggiano said.
