New Bike-Share Program Kicks Off In Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The city's new bike-share program, "Healthy Ride," kicked off Sunday.

Several rental stations were stocked this week.

Now 500 bicycles are available to rent at 50 stations in 11 neighborhoods.

You can rent a bike at one station and leave it another when you're done. It cost $4 to use one for one hour.

The kiosks opened Sunday morning during the "Open Streets" event between Market Square and Lawrenceville.

"Healthy Ride" employees say they were experiencing some problems with the app and bike kiosks, but were working to resolve the issues.

Parts of Butler Street and Penn Avenue are closed until noon.
