Tractor-Trailer Driver Trapped After Neville Island Crash

NEVILLE ISLAND (KDKA) – Emergency crews were called to the scene of a tractor-trailer crash on Neville Island Wednesday morning.

According to emergency dispatchers, the crash happened on Neville Road around 7 a.m., at the entrance of Calgon Carbon.

A dump truck was making a left turn when it was rear-ended by the tractor-trailer.

The driver was trapped inside the truck for a period of time.

"His legs were pretty much pinned underneath the dashboard, we had to cut the side open to get him out," Neville Island Fire Chief Michael Thomas said.

He was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
