Neverett: Two Spot In Order Most Significant

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- The Pirates are in the midst of a weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Tim Neverett of the Pirates broadcasting team joined Colin Dunlap in studio during Bucco Talk, and talked about an important spot in the Pirates batting order.

"The two spot in the Pirates order is the most significant spot because you're going to see fastballs," Neverett said. "You're not going to get walked, more often than not. If you get walked, the pitcher's making mistakes. They need to pitch to the two hitter with Andrew McCutchen on deck."

Pedro Alvarez hit the game-tying home run Friday night. Neverett told Dunlap that he loves watching Alvarez hit.

"If he's in the cage, I stop what I'm doing and watch him hit. It's fun to watch him hit. It's fun to see how far he can hit a baseball," Neverett said "When he's good, when he's right, and things are going his way, he's going to do a lot. He's not going to just hit the home run, he's going to get doubles, he's going to be driving in runs."
