NBC NFL Sideline Report Michele Tafoya Weighs In On Ugly Week For NFL

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With the NFL dealing with one arrest after another right now, NBC's Sunday Night Football sideline reporter Michele Tafoya joined Starkey and Mueller to talk about the recent absence of Commissioner Roger Goodell from the spotlight and what he should be doing right now.

"When that whole [Jonathan] Dwyer thing hit, I thought, "Okay, this feels like it's snowballing out of control and I think people want to hear something," Tafoya said. "They want to know someone kind of in a leadership position is willing to lay out a plan, and I've heard that a lot today, and Goodell has been quiet for a while."

Tafoya also had some advice for Goodell and the four woman panel he has put in place to deal with domestic violence in the NFL.

"They need to demonstrate publicly that it's important, that it matters.  They need to demonstrate publicly how they're going to deal with it.  They need to also probably take some proactive stance in ways that they're going to support the victims, and probably have some public outreach across the country in terms of abuse victims and supporting them. Those moves have to be made, and until they are, I can see how people will be raising their arms saying, 'Where is the NFL right now?  What are they doing?  These are their players.'  So it's a really interesting and kind of depressing time."
