National Sleep Foundation Offers Updated Sleep Recommendations

Experts have a better idea of how much sleep you need to get every night.

The new sleep recommendations come from the "National Sleep Foundation."

They adjust the range for sleep that children should get in various age categories.

It shortens the window for newborns to 14 to 17 hours.

But it widens the range for all other age groups.

Another charge this year is new categories for different age groups of adults - young adults between the age of 18 and 25, and older adults over the age of 65.

As for the rest of us, the recommended seven to nine hours of sleep remains unchanged.
