Munhall Home Invasion, Chase Leads To 2 Arrests In Homestead

MUNHALL (KDKA) - Police are investigating a home invasion in Munhall, where up to three people broke into an elderly couple's home.

According to police, the home invasion happened around  2 a.m. Thursday at a home on 11th Avenue in Munhall.

At least one of the suspects was armed with a gun. The man who lives there says his wife was awake and gave the men the keys to their car.

That car was later spotted and led police on a chase through several neighborhoods and into West Homestead. The chase ended when the suspects crashed over a hillside off of Walnut Street, right behind the West Homestead Police Department.

All of the suspects took off running from the scene.

One of them was taken into custody at a BP gas station on West 7th Avenue in Homestead. Police found a second suspect in the woods behind the Costco on Waterfront Drive. That suspect had a serious head injury and was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital.

Police believe one other suspect may have been involved in the home invasion and chase.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in the home invasion.
