Multiple Vehicles Collide On Liberty Bridge, One Person Critically Injured

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - One person was critically injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the Liberty Bridge Saturday morning.
The accident occurred at approximately 2 a.m. when four vehicles crashed on the bridge that crosses the Monongahela River.

According to police, the preliminary investigation shows that the injured driver ran a red light after driving through the tunnels inbound.
Two vehicles were making a left turn off of PJ McArdle Roadway into the Liberty Tunnels and struck the vehicle.
All lanes were closed as police investigated the scene.
The one injured victim is listed as in critical condition with a head injury.
