Police Arrest 23-Year-Old Man Accused Of Killing Youth Football Coach

MOUNT OLIVER (KDKA) -- Law enforcement officials converged on a neighborhood in Mt. Oliver with guns drawn early Wednesday afternoon.

Mt. Oliver Police, Allegheny County Police, Allegheny County sheriff's deputies, the FBI and U.S. Marshals were all called to the 100 block of Margaret Street before 11 a.m.

KDKA's Meghan Schiller reports from the scene that sheriff's deputies had weapons drawn and pointed at two homes along the street. They were using trucks as a possible shield.

Allegheny County Police described the situation as a joint operation.

One suspect into custody is identified as Eric Addison, who was wanted for homicide from a case in October.

He's accused of killing 32-year-old Richard Littlejohn, a young football coach in the Hill District.

Addison allegedly opened fire at Littlejohn as he drove along Route 30.

The crash sent 11 people to the hospital, including five kids.

The joint operation also led to 5 other people getting detailed for questioning.

Detectives say that may lead to more arrests.

Deputies from the U.S. Marshals Service also arrested a man in the home next door while on the scene.

"Keep on busting them and busting them until they get the message and get the hell out of here because we don't need it no more," said Mayor Frank Bernadini.

Stay with KDKA for the latest on this developing story.
