Motorcyclist's Leg Partially Amputated In West End Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries in a crash with another vehicle Friday night in the city's West End.

The accident happened around 8:40 p.m. at Woodville Avenue and Minnotte Square.

According to public safety officials, the 43-year-old motorcyclist was headed down Woodville Avenue when he collided with a Jeep that was trying to make a left turn.

The motorcycle became pinned between a light pole and the Jeep.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured as he was thrown 20 feet and part of his left leg was amputated.

He was taken to Allegheny General Hospital in stable condition.

His name has not been released.
