Mother, 3 Teens Arrested In Sheraden Drug Bust

SHERADEN (KDKA) - A drug bust turned into a SWAT situation in Sheraden Thursday morning.

According to police, they found drugs and guns inside a home near the intersection of Huxley and Sutherland Street.

One by one, the Mock family was led out of their Sheraden home in handcuffs.

Sherlean Mock, 50, her 17-year-old son and two teenage daughters Sierra and Shardae, were all arrested around 6 a.m.

Narcotics detectives from Zone Six went to the home on with a search warrant, accompanied by SWAT.

They confiscated a dangerous combination of cash, drugs, guns and ammunition.

"Just complete disregard for law enforcement, for what's right," Pittsburgh Police Cmdr. Scott Schubert said.

Heroin, cocaine, and marijuana along with over $2,000 dollars in cash was confiscated. The matriarch of the family was heading the house and her three teenage kids involved in the criminal activity, according to police.

"It's very, very good to go there today and to see the efforts of the officers and the detectives to make those arrests and to more importantly, take three guns off the street and to recover drugs and a large sum of money," Cmdr. Schubert said.

In recent weeks, there has been an increase in crime, with several shootings in the West End, and police out of Zone Six have stepped up patrols and are aggressively investigating.

"It's the visibility of the officers up there. The interaction with the community and showing them that we are there and we take this seriously and we are going to do everything we can to make it a safe community for them," Cmdr. Schubert said.
