Monroeville Man Arrested On Child Porn Charges

MONROEVILLE (KDKA) -- A Monroeville man has been arrested on child pornography charges.

According to the Pennsylvania Attorney General's Office, 28-year-old Stephen Ranalli Jr. is facing 17 counts of possession of child pornography.

He is also charged with one count each of distribution of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility.

The Attorney General's Office said authorities investigating the online sexual abuse of children first discovered a computer on a peer-to-peer sharing network with alleged child pornography files. The computer's IP address was allegedly registered to the suspect, investigators said.

Monroeville Police and the Attorney General's Office Child Predator Unit then served a search warrant at Ranalli's home and seized a laptop, on which they say they found "numerous" child porn files.

Ranalli is being held in the Allegheny County Jail after he was unable to post $50,000 bond.

He has a preliminary hearing set for Dec. 14.

The Child Predator Unit also arrested a Bucks County man, 32-year-old Daniel Clark, on similar charges.
