Warrant Issued For Murder Case Witness Who Never Showed In Court

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police are looking for a witness in a homicide case who skipped out on a hearing today.

Michael Wilson was shot and killed on Penfort Street in Northview Heights last year.

Police tracked down two witnesses: one said they saw Samuel Mitchell approach the victim, then heard gunfire.

The other witness said Mitchell told them he would never be arrested because no one would dare testify against him.

Mitchell's hearing today was postponed when one of the witnesses didn't show.

"In the affidavit, it does not specify a name, so we're interested to see who is this person that allegedly said what they said," said defense attorney Blaine Jones. "That's all we're looking for, is justice to be served, and that's all. This killing has got to stop somewhere down the line and we're going to start it right now, that's it."

Prosecutors say they'll try to move the case forward next month.
