Missing Clairton Man Found, Rescued From Hillside

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A man missing from his Clairton care home was found about a mile away after he fell over a hillside.

Emergency responders were called to St. Clair Cemetery on Worthington Avenue after a person walking in the woods spotted a man who had fallen over the hillside.

Police say the man was 73-year-old Leonard Jones who was reported missing Wednesday evening from the United Hands Personal Care Home on Mitchell Avenue.

Jones was found conscious, but authorities say he was confused and did not know how he got there.

Authorities say Jones has a history of dementia and Parkinson's Disease and has walked away before. A big concern was the fact that he'd been without medication for more than 24 hours.

Jones was later taken to Allegheny General Hospital.
