Mini-Van Rear-Ends School Bus Carrying Elementary School Students

WEST DEER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A mini-van rear-ended a school bus that had elementary school students on board in West Deer Township Thursday afternoon.

Eleven elementary school students from Deer Lakes School District were being transported home from school when the bus was rear-ended in the 600-block of Little Deer Creek Road.

According to a statement from the school district, no students were reported to be injured and all were taken home safely. The bus driver did not appear to be injured, but was taken to the hospital as a precaution by a colleague. There is no word on his condition.

West Deer Township police are investigating.
