Megan's Law Offender Arrested In Moon Twp., 2nd Wanted Man Found

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police say they found and arrested a Megan's Law offender who was wanted for a 2010 rape.

Police say Jamal Tompkins, 25, pleaded guilty in 2012 to raping a high school student with Downs Syndrome.

However, police say Tompkins missed his Megan's Law registration and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Tompkins is accused of raping the girl after a Baldwin High School football game in an abandoned apartment complex.

Police found Tompkins Thursday at a hotel on University Boulevard in Moon Township.

They also found 25-year-old Devin Stewart in the hotel room. Steward was also wanted on an Allegheny County bench warrant for violating probation and two in Beaver County.

Police say Stewart was also in possession of a gun that was registered to another person who had died.
Both were taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
