Medics Revive Cat At Scene Of Uniontown House Fire
UNIONTOWN (KDKA)- Firefighters worked quickly to put out a fire in Uniontown on Thursday evening.
The fire started just before 6 p.m. at a house on East Kerr Street. When crews arrived, there was a lot of smoke coming from the home.
"A lot of credit to the fire department, they did a really good job, saved a home," said Uniontown Police Lieutenant Thomas Kolencik.
Crews were able to knock down the fire quickly. It started in the basement, and they believe it's electrical in nature.
Lt. Kolencik says one dog and one cat died in the fire. But, another cat and dog survived.
"Lot of credit to EMS crews, they actually revived one of the cats, they did a really good job," said Kolencik.
This is the fourth fire in Uniontown in the past three days. Two fires on Monday were ruled arson and police did arrest a suspect in the case.
Another fire on Wednesday night was also an arson. So far, police don't have any leads in that case.
"Our fire department is doing a heck of a job. They are exhausted, they are doing a great job for the city, a lot of credit goes to those guys," said Kolencik.
