Medical Examiner: N. Braddock Woman Suffered Heart Attack, Rules Death Homicide

NORTH BRADDOCK (KDKA)- Officials have ruled a cause of death for a woman found bound and deceased in her home in North Braddock earlier this week.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has declared that 92-year-old Amelia Roman suffered a heart attack and have ruled her death a homicide.

Roman was found dead on Monday, inside her home on Jones Avenue. She was found in bed with her hands and feet bound by duct tape with blankets covering her body.

Police said they believe someone got into the house from a back window, which they found smashed.

"She's a very small woman. There was a very slight struggle. But, it does appear like she tried to fight a little bit," Allegheny County Police Asst. Supt. James Morton said on Tuesday.
