McKeesport Shooting Leaves 1 Man Dead

MCKEESPORT (KDKA) - Police are investigating after one man was shot and killed in McKeesport Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the shooting happened outside of the Harrison Village Housing Complex on Market Street around 5:30 p.m.

Anthony Robertson, 37, of McKeesport, was sitting on a nearby wall when at least 10 shots were fired.

Robertson was transported to UPMC McKeesport Hospital, where he later died.

Police believe retaliation may have been the motive after a shooting in Duquesne on Saturday.

No arrests have been made and anyone with information is asked to call the Allegheny County Police Homicide Unit.

A woman who spoke to KDKA's Amy Wadas off camera works at the recreation center and says what happened is scary. She said it is especially scary since there are a lot of kids who go in and out of the recreation center daily.

Neighbors say the violence needs to stop. Two women who spoke to KDKA off camera say they knew Robertson and heard the fatal gunshots go off.

McKeesport Police hope surveillance video from the recreation center will help catch the suspect.

Allegheny County Police is handling the investigation.
