54-Year-Old Man Shot And Killed In McKeesport, Allegheny County Police Investigating

MCKEESPORT, Pa. (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a fatal shooting in McKeesport.

Allegheny County Police Detectives have some leads thanks to surveillance video in the area that captured what happened to 54-year-old George Brosey. He was killed just before 11:30 p.m. Monday in Crawford Village in McKeesport.

Investigators say when first responders arrived at the scene, they found Brosey, who had been shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are calling this a targeted shooting.

When McKeesport Police arrived, they requested the assistance of Allegheny County Police's homicide unit. A large police presence was at the scene of the shooting for several hours.

Police say surveillance video shows Brosey walking up to the stoop of an apartment when a black male wearing a light-colored hoodie approached Brosey between Building 47 and Building 48 and shot him.

Police say two other black males were standing on Pirl Street nearby and fired multiple shots in the direction of Brosey.

"Surveillance video is always helpful. Any video, any video that people have at their private residence is also very helpful," says Inspector Michael Peairs with the Allegheny County Police Department.

At this time, no one has been arrested. Police tell KDKA's Lindsay Ward they're unsure why he was targeted.

Allegheny County Police ask anyone with information about this shooting to call the County Police tip line at 1-833-ALL-TIPS.
