McCutchen Leaves Game Early Friday In Pirates 6-2 Win At Milwaukee

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)-Andrew McCutchen's Friday night didn't end as well as his team's did. Despite a 6-2 over Milwaukee at Miller Park, the club's first of 2015, the Bucs all-star centerfielder didn't finish the night on the field.

McCutchen pulled himself from the contest with what was described as "left knee soreness," according to manager Clint Hurdle.

The 2013 NL MVP did not meet with reporters after the game to discuss the move. McCutchen missed most of the first half of Spring Training with what was described as "lower-body discomfort."

There is speculation that McCutchen may have hurt himself jumping for a ball that was hit in the seventh by Jonathan Lucroy of the Brewers that led to a triple.

Hurdle added that it was a base running attempt earlier in the game that led to McCutchen feeling something in his knee and led to his removal from the game.

It appears McCutchen will not play Saturday, as he is not listed in the Pirates' starting lineup.

The Pirates take on the Brewers at 7:10 p.m.

Below is Hurdle's postgame press conference.
