McCutchen, Harrison & Watson Named To NL All-Star Team

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The MLB All-Star Game rosters were announced Sunday.

Reigning National League MVP Andrew McCutchen was pretty much guaranteed a spot, but he will be joined by two teammates as well.

McCutchen received the most votes of any National League outfielder with more than 4.5 million votes.

The 27-year-old Gold Glover has a .547 slugging percentage, which is among the league leaders.

He leads the National League in walks to go along with his 13 home runs and 13 stolen bases. This will be his fourth consecutive appearance in the All-Star Game.

Fellow Pirate Josh Harrison has also been named to the team as an outfielder.

He is the first utility player to be named to the National League roster since Omar Infante in 2010.

Harrison has a .298 batting average with five home runs, 25 RBI, 12 doubles, and nine steals.

Harrison and McCutchen will be joined in Minneapolis by relief pitcher Tony Watson.

Watson currently ranks third among relief pitchers in the majors with a 0.89 ERA.

Pirates Manager Clint Hurdle and Assistant Athletic Trainer Ben Potenziano will also serve on the National League squad.
