Police Clear Scene After Man With Knife Or Hatchet Reported Near UPMC Passavant Hospital

MCCANDLESS, Pa. (KDKA) -- Police spent Tuesday night looking for a man who was reportedly armed with a knife or hatchet near UPMC Passavant Hospital.

McCandless police say they were searching for the young man in the wooded area near the hospital. Police said the young man "suffers from mental health issues."

Police cleared the scene and did not find him. Law enforcement said a K9 unit and drone were used in the search.

The man was later found, police said Thursday, and is being assisted.
