Masked Men Rob Washington McDonald's At Gunpoint

WASHINGTON (KDKA) -- Police are calling it a brazen, take-over style robbery.

Officers said around 4:30 Thursday morning, two men walked into a McDonald's restaurant on Jefferson Avenue in Washington.

They were both wearing masks and were armed with guns.

"One of the suspects forced a manager into the office, opened the safe, grabbed the money, while the other suspect held the other two employees at gunpoint," said Lt. Steve Robertson with the Washington Police.

One of the men sprayed the manager with mace. After that, the suspects ran off. Police have not released the amount of cash the suspects got away with.

"They were described as two black males, one wearing a burgundy hoodie, sweatshirt with sweatpants, the other one just blue jeans, that's all we have," said Robertson.

The descriptions are vague but police are hoping someone may be able to help identify the suspects or come forward with information.

Police will also be taking a close look at the restaurant's surveillance footage.

The restaurant was closed for a time after the robbery, but has since reopened.
