Marshall University Investigating Allegations Of Hazing And Illegal Drug Use By Sorority

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Marshall University says it has issued an order requiring Delta Upsilon chapter of Delta Zeta to stop activities until further notice while it investigates allegations of illegal drug use and hazing.

Marshall President Jerome Gilbert said in a news release that the school's student conduct office has officially begun an internal investigation. The release said Delta Zeta's national organization was notified and invited to participate in the investigation.

Marshall issued a cease and desist order for the chapter. The order requires all chapter activities, meetings and social events to stop until further notice.
