'This Is A Family Store': Marathon Gas Station Manager Hoping To Keep Reputation After Overnight Shooting

WILKINSBURG (KDKA) -- Police are investigating a shooting that took place at the Marathon Gas Station on Penn Avenue in Wilkinsburg.

Marathon Manager Donald Jones does not usually sit by the door, but during Friday's shift, he felt he had to.

"Just keeping an eye on the place and stuff and see if things smooth," said Jones. "This is a family store."

He wants to keep that reputation despite the shooting that happened earlier that morning.

"I had to come in here almost at 5:30," said Jones. "Cause the store was locked and everything. Nobody was here."

Jones believes his employees ran away after someone shot a man in a blue Chevy at gas pump 4.

Wilkinsburg Police searched the car, and then it was towed.

They say the victim has non-life-threatening injuries.

Jones hopes police find the suspect so the neighborhood is safe.

"We want to keep it like family, and keep it calm up here," said Jones. "People have to calm down more and don't be doing so much crime."

The police are investigating the incident and looking through surveillance video.

Police ask that you contact them if you have any information.
