Man's Beltzhoover Apartment Destroyed By Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Fire destroyed an apartment in Beltzhoover today.

It was located above a garage at the corner of Chalfont Street and Curtin Avenue.

The building was destroyed.

The man who lives there wasn't home. We're told he was well-liked in the community.

"I understand he had a family member that passed away, so he wasn't in the area.
This gentleman, I understand, also is really well-liked in the community, he did a lot for the neighbors, so it's a shame that he had to lose property today," said Pittsburgh Fire Battalion Chief Bob Ciesielski.

At least two other buildings were damaged by the heat from the fire.

The cause is under investigation.
