Man Wanted For Questioning In McKeesport Fatal Shooting Surrenders

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The man wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of an innocent driver last week in McKeesport has turned himself into police.

Rashawn Walker, 18, was accompanied by his attorney to Allegheny County Police headquarters on Tuesday evening.

As he arrived, he hugged a family member and then went inside the police station.

Walker was considered to be armed and dangerous and was wanted for questioning in the shooting death of 73-year-old James Ponzo last Wednesday.

Investigators believe Ponzo was an innocent victim who got caught in the crossfire when the gunfire broke out near Crawford Village. Two vehicles were traveling through McKeesport when they exchanged gunfire during the afternoon hours.

After he was hit, Ponzo crashed his car into an SUV. He was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.

Walker was wanted on two warrants unrelated to the fatal shooting. He has not been charged in that incident. Police will question him.
