Man Trying To Kill Skunk With Pistol Leads To School Lockdown

BUTLER COUNTY (KDKA) – A Butler County school was locked down after a man was scene near the campus with a handgun.

Police say that it was actually a local homeowner trying to kill a skunk.

It happened at Northwest Elementary School in Butler Township.

A person arriving at the school saw the man with the gun and called police.

The school was placed into lockdown and traffic was diverted from the area.

Butler Township Police arrived to find a nearby homeowner had trapped a skunk and was trying to kill it with his pistol.

Police swept the school, and it was re-opened just after 9:00 a.m.
