Man Shot Outside Of Hunker Home, Suspect Sought

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A 67-year-old man is in serious condition after he was shot while sitting in a car outside of his home in Westmoreland County.

Police say Harold James Marietta was shot in the neck outside of his Hunker home.

"He went out to his vehicle to go to work this morning and he was shot in his vehicle, shot in the neck area," said State Police Tpr. Stephen Limani.

The unknown gunman blasted through the driver's side window in an apparent ambush.

The shooter is described as a 6-foot-tall white man wearing a hoodie and jeans. Marietta's wife says she saw the suspect run off.

"She had heard a gunshot and she saw an individual who was heading southbound on the road on foot," said Limani.

The nearby Stanwood Elementary School and Westmoreland CTC were put on lockdown while police searched for the shooter. They have since been reopened.
