Police Investigating After Man Shot, Killed In Wilkinsburg Restaurant

WILKINSBURG (KDKA)- Police are still looking for the man who shot and killed another man inside Fireside Caribbean Restaurant on Penn Avenue in Wilkinsburg Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, the incident happened around 3:40 p.m.

Lynneil Williams, 31, was seated at a booth inside the restaurant with his meal right in front of him. Five minutes later, police say another man came in after him.

"Within a few minutes, another person comes in, goes to where he was sitting and shoots him in the booth," Allegheny County Police Assistant Superintendent James Morton said.

Between six and eight other patrons were inside the restaurant when the shooting happened.

When police got to the scene, they say they found Williams suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound to the chest. He was taken to West Penn Hospital, where he later died.

"We're asking any of the patrons in the restaurant at the time to come forward to talk to police," Morton said. "We're doing neighborhood canvassing and asking anyone with information to come forward."

Police say it is crucial to get the shooter off the streets.

The shooter is described as a black man with a bushy beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt and a dark ball cap.
