Man Shot After Running Over Security Guard In Fineview

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man was shot after running over a security guard on Saturday.

It happened at a housing complex in the area of Sandusky Court in Fineview.

Police say two security guards noticed a male drive onto the property and park behind a building. They recognized him as someone who shouldn't be on the property, later identified as 31-year-old Raphael David Caruso.

After being confronted, the driver struck one of the guards with his vehicle, prompting the other guard to open fire.

Caruso was struck and taken to Allegheny General Hospital in stable condition.

The injured security guard is also expected to recover.

Caruso is being held in the Allegheny County Jail and is facing attempted criminal homicide and aggravated assault charges.
