Man Overdoses With Foot On Gas Pedal, Baby In Backseat

NORTH BRADDOCK (KDKA) -- A man overdosed behind the wheel of a car in North Braddock on Thursday, with a baby in the backseat.

It happened on Grove Way, in front of a garage.

A neighbor was coming home from work and heard the car running, leading him to discover the dangerous situation.

In the driver's seat sat a 26-year-old man passed out cold, with his foot on the gas pedal, while his 18-month-old baby was strapped in the back seat.

The man was taken to McKeesport Hospital, to be treated for a heroin overdose. He will be charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

The infant was taken to the North Braddock Police Station, where he was later picked up by his mother.
