Man Killed In Fiery Overnight Crash In Penn Township

PENN TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A North Huntingdon man was killed in a fiery, one-vehicle crash overnight in Westmoreland County.

The accident happened just before 2 a.m. along Nike Site Road in Penn Township.

Penn Township Police identify the victim as 24-year-old Sean Pedder of North Huntingdon.

The Westmoreland County Coroner's Office says Pedder died from multiple blunt force injuries.

According to Police Chief John Otto, Pedder was headed south in his 1998 Pontiac Firebird when he failed to navigate a bend in the road.

The car left the roadway, hit a culvert, as well as a fence and several small trees before hitting a larger tree.

Pedder was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say they found the Firebird in flames when they arrived at the scene.

Several nearby police and fire departments responded to the scene.

There were no other injuries.
