Man Killed After Crashing Stolen Car

INDIANA COUNTY (KDKA) -- A man was killed early Saturday morning when he crashed the car he had just stolen into a tree in Indiana County.

According to the Indiana County coroner's office, 35-year-old Josh Ferra of Indiana, Pa., stole an SUV outside of a tavern in the Chambersville area around 12:20 a.m. While he was driving away, Ferra crossed North 6th Street, left the road and crashed head-on into a tree.

Ferra was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force trauma injuries sustained in the crash. The coroner's report says Ferra was not wearing a seatbelt, and he died on impact.

The Pennsylvania State Police investigated the incident.
