Man In Custody After Hill District Foot Chase

HILL DISTRICT (KDKA) – A man was arrested after leading police on a brief foot chase in the Hill District Tuesday evening.

According to police, the incident began in the 1800-block of Centre Avenue around 7:15 p.m.

Officers noticed and stopped Troy Terrell Reed, 34, of Verona, who wanted for harassing a store clerk.

However, Reed took off on foot when asked if he had any weapons. While attempting to flee, Reed disposed of items in his pockets.

After a brief chase, Reed stopped near a concrete wall and lit a cigarette. He refused to comply with officers and was forcibly taken into custody.

One officer fell over a retaining wall during the foot pursuit and suffered an arm injury.

It was later determined that Reed was wanted on two bench warrants in Cambria County. He also had a third bench warrant from the Allegheny County Family Division.

He is facing additional charges of resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.
