Man Hurt In Brownsville House Fire

FAYETTE COUNTY (KDKA) - A man was rushed to the hospital Saturday morning after escaping a house fire in Brownsville.

The flames broke out around 8 a.m. in the area of Catherine Avenue. One man was rushed to UPMC Mercy.

According to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the man suffered second-degree burns on his back trying to rescue pet reptiles and other animals in the house.

Two firefighters were also hurt, but sustained only minor injuries.

The home was destroyed. It is not clear what sparked the flames.
