Man Gets 10 To 20 years In Murder Of Guard At Pittsburgh Bar

PITTSBURGH (AP) - A western Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 10 to 20 years in the shooting death of a security guard at a Pittsburgh bar last year.

Twenty-eight-year-old Harvey Scott pleaded guilty Monday in Allegheny County Court to third-degree murder, theft and firearms charges.

Prosecutors said he shot 24-year-old Deion Nesbitt three times during a struggle after he was asked to leave the Rendezvous Phase III bar in Homewood in February 2015. A female guard was grazed. Scott was arrested after crashing his car nearby.

After Nesbitt's parents spoke about the loss of their son, Judge Beth Lazzara told them "It is grief beyond measure, and my heart truly goes out to your family."

Scott apologized to the victim's family, saying "If I could take it back, I would."
