Man Dies After Falling Out Of Bucket Truck In North Versailles

NORTH VERSAILLES (KDKA) -- A man has died after falling out of a bucket truck while trimming trees Tuesday afternoon in North Versailles.

The accident happened around 3 p.m. at Hawthorne Street where it intersects with Greensburg Pike.

Officials say the worker, who was a tree cutter, was using the bucket truck when he fell to the ground. How that happened officially has not been released.

Paramedics performed CPR at the scene, emergency dispatchers said.

Neighbors wondered why tree trimming work was going on during such a cold day.

"I seen and heard the police coming down and I walked out and asked one of the police what happened, and he said a guy fell out of the cherry picker and he's dead," said Rev. Melvin Fallin, a neighbor.

The victim's name has not been released yet, but officials say he was an employee of Davey Tree Service.

North Versailles Police, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office and OSHA are investigating.
