Man Falls 15 Feet While Working On Roof

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One man was hurt and another was stranded on a roof when a stairwell collapsed inside a Polish Hill home this afternoon.

They were working on the roof of a home on Pulawski Way when the stairs gave way.

One worker fell about two stories. He suffered bruises and cuts.

"The staircase was a little water damaged and went loose beneath me and probably fell 15, 20 feet, got a little scrape here and there. But other than that, I think I'm fine," said Bruce Kazmierczak.

"He fell further than he realizes and he didn't respond when I called him for a little while when I called him so he might have been out of it, but I think we're OK , we were lucky," said Eric Kazmierczak who was left stranded on the roof.

The stranded worker was rescued by firefighters.
