Man Driving ATV Crashes Into Police Car

SUGARCREEK TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A man crashed his ATV into a police car while attempting to flee from officers in Sugarcreek Township Saturday afternoon.

State police say an East Franklin Township police officer spotted 27-year-old Andrew Kijowski driving an ATV on State Route 4017 in Sugarcreek Township around 6 p.m. Saturday. When the officer attempted to stop him and inform him he was not allowed to be driving on that road, Kijowski attempted to flee.

Kijowski then struck an East Franklin Township patrol car, left the road and crashed into a tree. He was taken to Allegheny County Hospital for treatment. His condition is unknown.

Pennsylvania state police in Kittanning are investigating the incident. Charges against Kijowski are pending.
