Man Shot, Killed In West Oakland Shooting

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A man has died and police are looking for a suspect following a shooting late Friday in West Oakland.

The Allegheny County medical examiner's office has identified the victim as 20-year-old Wade L. Howard, of the Hill District. He was pronounced dead at 10:38 p.m. at a UPMC Mercy Hospital.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, Howard was shot twice in the chest inside a home in the 2000-block of De Ruad Street just before 10 p.m.

He was taken to a UPMC Mercy Hospital and listed in critical condition, but later died from his injuries.

Police have not located the gunman.

"Right now, we have very little information about a suspect. We believe that we have at least one shooter," said Pittsburgh Public Safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler.
