Man Charged With Stealing $100,000 From Volunteer Fire Company

SOUTH FAYETTE TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A South Fayette Township man is accused of stealing $100,000 from the Fairview Volunteer Fire Company.

Frank DeThomas, 60, served as treasurer for the company for six years.

He surrendered to detectives from the District Attorneys Office on Thursday on a number of charges, including theft and receiving stolen property.

Officials discovered how much money had been stolen after DeThomas was voted out as treasurer in 2015 and began training his replacement.
