Man Charged With Selling Heroin At Food Court In Mall

TARENTUM (AP) - A man has been jailed on charges he sold heroin in the food court of a struggling shopping mall in western Pennsylvania.

Thirty-three-year-old Errick White, of New Kensington, was arrested by Frazer Township police at the Galleria at Pittsburgh Mills. The mall is about 20 miles northeast of Pittsburgh, along Route 28.

Police say they arrested White on Thursday after an undercover officer saw an apparent drug deal. Police say the found 150 individual dose bags of heroin plus more than $1,000 cash on White.

Wells Fargo foreclosed on the mall last month. The mall opened in 2005 but has struggled with vacancies and the loss of some anchor tenants.

The mall remains open, but a subsidiary of Johnstown-based Zamias Services owes about $143 million on the original $133 million loan taken out in 2006.
