Man Charged In West Mifflin Fatal Shooting

WEST MIFFLIN (KDKA) -- West Mifflin police arrested a 22-year-old man Saturday night in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred at a housing complex earlier that day.

Around 9 a.m. Saturday, West Mifflin police responded to reports of a man shot multiple times at the MonView Heights housing complex on Midway Drive. The victim was transported to a local hospital and later died from his injuries. The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as 26-year-old Derek Price.

Around 8 p.m., Allegheny County police obtained an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Zyaire James of Clairton. He was arrested and charged with homicide.

According to police, the shooting appeared to have stemmed from Price and Clairton having a relationship interest in the same person. Officers initially said a domestic disturbance had been reported shortly before the shooting.
