Man Charged In Connection To Assault On 2-Year-Old Child

NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- New Castle police took a man into custody Saturday and charged him for the aggravated assault of a 2-year-old child.

New Castle police say a suspected child abuse investigation was conducted after a 2-year-old child was taken to UPMC Children's Hospital for treatment of multiple injuries. Isaac Ryhal, 23, was identified as a suspect in the assault, and police were searching for him Friday afternoon.

Around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, New Castle police announced that they had received information on Ryhal's location, and he had been taken into custody and placed in the Lawrence County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Ryhal was charged with aggravated assault and related offenses.
