Police Investigating Stabbing, Robbery In Downtown Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police are investigating after a man says he was beaten up, stabbed and robbed early Saturday morning near Strawberry Way and Liberty Avenue.

Police say around 2:45 a.m., a man was surrounded by four suspects near Strawberry Way and Liberty Avenue. The suspects kicked and punched the victim and demanded he hand over his wallet. One of the suspects allegedly showed the victim that he had a gun under his shirt. The victim briefly passed out.

The victim told police that when he woke up, his wallet and keys were gone, and he realized he had been stabbed in his left shoulder. He was able to get to UPMC Mercy on his own, and officers responded to the hospital around 5:45 a.m. He was last reported to be in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
