Man Arrested In Downtown Triple Stabbing

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - A man has been arrested and is being charged in a triple stabbing at a Downtown convenience store.

According to police, the incident happened on Sept. 23, outside of the 7-Eleven on Wood Street.

It started with an argument between two women inside the store, which spilled outside. Two men intervened and were stabbed. Both required stitches.

One of the women was also stabbed and suffered a punctured lung.

On Wednesday, police arrested Tommy Stiefel, 37, of Bellevue. He is believed to be an acquaintance of one of the women involved in the argument.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Stiefel claims he was jumped when he left the store. He also said he picked up a knife he saw on the ground during the scuffle.

Stiefel has been charged with aggravated assault and is being held in the Allegheny County Jail.
