Man Arrested For Sheraden Mini-Mart Armed Robbery

SHERADEN (KDKA) -- Police arrested a man who robbed a Sheraden store Saturday morning with a toy gun.

Officers responded to the Sheraden Mini-Mart on Hillsboro Street around 8:50 a.m. for a report of an armed robbery.

According to police, the suspect entered the Mini-Mart and demanded money from the cash register at gunpoint. He fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers were told that a man matching the suspect's description was seen walking along Hillsboro Street toward Bergman Street. He had also been seen discarding a weapon. He was detained by officers on Hammond Street and identified as 31-year-old Maurice Davis. He was then arrested and sent to Allegheny County Jail.

Police found the gun, which ended up being a toy.
