Man Arrested For Non-Fatal Homewood Shooting

HOMEWOOD (KDKA) -- Police arrested a man in connection to a non-fatal shooting in Homewood that occurred Thursday night.

According to police, around 11:15 p.m. Thursday, police responded to reports of a shooting in the 800-block of Brushton Avenue and found a victim nearby. The victim had been shot once in the ankle.

The unidentified victim told police that he had been standing outside when an unknown black man approached and began shooting at him. The victim began to run away, but a bullet hit him in the ankle. He was transported by paramedics to UPMC Presbyterian in stable condition. Police also say the front windshield of a nearby parked car was damaged in the shooting.

Police say their investigation led to the arrest of 34-year-old Tony Banks of Homewood. Banks was arrested Friday night.
